Synopsis: Ecological preserve of islands off the coast of Los Angeles. Includes 145 species found no where else on the planet. Stamp Location: Visitor centers on the mainland include Lagomarsino, 1900 Spinaker Dr in Ventura and Santa Barbara Island in Santa Barbara. The only visitor center on the islands is Anacapa Island, though each of the islands has a ranger contact station. Enquiry locally as to stamp availability. |

Synopsis: Geological site preserves a 60′ wall of one of the worlds best examples of columnar-joint basalt and a 101′ waterfall (Rainbow Falls) Stamp Location: Ranger station at the end of the road leading to the monument. To get to the monument, drive 10 miles west of US 395 on SR 203 and then 7 miles on a paved mountain road. Ranger station is only open in the summer. |

Synopsis: Historic site preserves the home of the only Nobel Prize winning playwright from the U.S. and the architect of modern American theater. Stamp Location: Directions on the official site call for taking I-680 to Danville and that a reservation on a shuttle bus is necessary to get to the site. To make a reservation, call 925.838.0249. It is unclear if the Visitor center is located at the site or at the place where you meet the shuttle bus. The visitor center contains a bookstore that should have the stamp. The site is only open Wednesday – Sunday. |

Synopsis: The area is the largest urban national park in the world, and protects undeveloped sites as well as historical ones. Stamp Location: Multiple locations including the visitor center at Muir Woods NM, the Marin Headlands VC at Field & Bunker Rds (west after the Golden Gate Bridge), Cliff House at the western end of Point Lobos Ave, Fort Funston off of SR 35, Fort Pointe NHS & the William Penn Mott Jr VC in the Presidio (look for signs), park headquarters at Bay & Franklin Sts in San Francisco (near the SF Maritime NHP) and the Pacifica Visitor Center at 225 Rockaway Beach in Pacifica. The headquarters is also the western regional headquarters with park brochures and information about all parks in the region. Alcatraz also has a stamp, which is only reachable via boat from peir 41. Synopsis: Park preserves 800,000 acres of desert and its special ecosystems. Stamp Location: The park has two visitor centers: Oasis VC on SR 62 in Twentynine Palms, and the Cottonwood VC on SR 195 near Chiriaco Summit on the southern end of the park. The stamp is also available at the Black Rock Canyon ranger station, just south of SR 62 and Yucca Valley. The stamp can also be obtained at the Indian Cove and Blackrock ranger stations. |

Synopsis: Trail commemorates the route followed by Anza in 1775-76 when he led a contingent of 30 soldiers and their families from near Nogales, AZ to found a presidio and mission on the San Francisco Bay. Stamp Location: Stamp is available in California at the Santa Monica Mountains NRA VC, the Presidio VC and Fort Point NHS of the Golden Gate NRA, John Muir NHS, Channel Islands NP VCs and Anza Borrego State Park. Synopsis: Geological park contains all four types of volcanoes in the world. Very scenic. Stamp Location: The parks information center is located at Southwest, near Lassen Chalet on SR 89. Ranger stations are also located at Summit Lake North and next to the Loomis Museum on Manzanita Lake by the northwest entrance. Stamps are known to be at the parks entrances and at the headquarters 8 miles south of the park in Mineral and at the Loomis Museum. |
