Park brochure not obtained yet Synopsis: Park commemorates French Jesuit missionary who established Michigan’s earliest European settlements at Sault Ste. Marie and St. Ignace in 1668 and 1671. He mastered several native languages and helped Louis Jolliet map the Mississippi River.
Stamp Location: The Memorial is located at St. Ignace in Straits State Park, just west of I-75 off US 2 and the stamp is at the headquarters.

Isle Royale NP

Synopsis: Awesome remote wilderness park is at least a six hour boat ride away. Dense northern forests with abundant wildlife on a roadless island 45 miles long and 9 miles wide.
Stamp Location: There are two visitor centers for the park accesible from Michigan: the Houghton VC 800 East Lakeshore Dr in Houghton (the only non-island based VC not open on Saturday during the winter and closed year round on Sunday), the Rock Harbor VC on the northest corner of the island is accessible by boat from either Houghton or Copper Harbor. Park facilities on the island are closed during the winter. Information on getting to the island may be obatined here.

Keweenaw NHP
Park brochure not obtained yet Synopsis: Park commemorates the rich history of copper mining on the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan – the only place in the world where commercially abundant quantities of elemental copper occurred. It has the oldest metal mining heritage in the western hemisphere (one which dates back 7,000 years).
Stamp Location: The official stamp for the site may be obtained at the park headquarters located at 25970 Red Jacket Rd in Calumet. There are also 16 cooperating sites: the main stamp for the cooperating sites may be obtained at the Calumet Tourism Council visitor center on US 41 in Calument, the AE Seaman Mineral Museum located on the 5th floor of the Electrical Engineering Resources Center of the Michigan Technological University Campus in Houghton, the Calumet Theater located at 340 Sixth St in Calumet, the Copper Range Historical Museum located on SR 26 in South Range, Coppertown USA located next to the park headquarters in Calument, the Delaware Mine located off US 41 in Delaware, Fort Wilkins State Park located off US 41 in Copper Harbor, the Hanka Homestead located on Bear Town Rd in Barage, Houghton County Historical Museum located on SR 26 in Lake Linden, Keweenaw County Historical Museum located on SR 26 in Eagle Harbor, the Eagle Harbor Light Station, Keweenaw Heritage Center at St Annes located at 25880 Red Jacket Rd in Calumet (near park headquarters), McLain State Park located on SR 203 in Hancock, Old Victoria located on Victoria Dam Rd in Victoria, the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park located off SR 107 near Silver City, Quincy Mine Hoist and Underground Mine located on US 41 north of Hancock, U.P. Firefighters Memorial Museum located across the street from Calumet Theater. An additional cooperating site, the Laurium Manor Inn, does not keep their stamp on-site, but at the park headquarters. Ask at the headquarters for whatever stamps they have.

Sloan Museum in Flint, the Detroit Historical Museum in Detrot, GM World at GM World Headquarters in Detroit, the Michigan Historical Museum in Lansing, the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center in Westland, The Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, Walker Tavern in Brooklyn, the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, and the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum in Ypsilanti.

Synopsis: Multicolored sandstone cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, waterfalls, inland lakes, wildlife and the forest of the Lake Superior shoreline.
Stamp Location: Stamp may be obtained at the Visitor Information center located at the junction of SR M-28 and CR H-58 in Munising, the Grand Sable Visitor Center located at E21090 CR H58, one mile west of Grand Marais, the Miner’s Castle Information Center and the Au Sable Light Station. It may also be obtained at the Munising Falls Interpretive Center at 1505 Sand Point Rd in Munising and at park headquarters also on Sand Point Rd (N8391).
