Dashboard – A collection of indicators and graphs, typically on a Webpage indicating numerical indicators.  e.g.  “This dashboard gives leadership important information.”

Data Collection – Typically a time period in which information is collected.  e.g.  “In a few months we’ll do data collection and see how successful we are”.

Decision Maker – A person that can make decisions.  e.g.  “we’ll need to run this past the decision makers”

Decision Point – A point in time or within a process that a decision needs to be made.  e.g.  “After this we’ll reach a decision point and will need to do some analysis”.

Deep Dive – An in-depth analysis into something.  e.g.  “We’ll need to do a deep dive on this.”

Deliverable – Something that needs to be done such as a request.  e.g.  “The next deliverable will be the current state analysis.”

Delta – Changes  e.g.  “Do we have any delta’s from our current processes?”

Development – An environment for creating or honing something. This can be a physical area to build a new product or a separate computer system area for creating a new software application.  E.g.  “Is this in development?”

Disrupt – To create a new existence or form.  E.g.  “We need to disrupt the economy.”

Diversity – Publicly, a stated policy of having representatives of every member type of a community.  In practice it represses some members to achieve this.

Dog and Pony Show – A circus or something that is put on just for entertainment without any real value.  e.g. “This demo turned out to be a Dog and Pony Show”

Download – To receive information.  E.g.  “I’ll have to download that when I get back to my office.”

Downsize – To reduce in size.  e.g.  “We’ll need to downsize the project.”

Downtime – A period of time when computer systems are down or not available.  e.g. “The system is down so we’ll need to follow downtime procedures.”

Ducks (in a row) – An item that needs to aligned properly for things to continue.  e.g.  “We need to get our ducks in a row to continue.”

Drill down – Get down to fine details.  General brought up when discussing a larger topic and more details are needed to make a decision.  e.g.  “We’ll need to drill down to get some more details.”

Dynamic – Something that changes.  e.g.  “This process is very dynamic!”
