E

Early Adopter – One who uses technology when it is first released.  This can be technology that mght not be publically available or be fully functional.  e.g.  “We should be early adopters and take this code.”

Early Stage – The beginning.  e.g.  “We are at an early stage in the process.”

Ecosystem – Typically the outdoor environment but can mean the business environment.  e.g.  “We need to consider the entire ecosystem.”

Education Component – As aspect that relates to learning.  e.g. “Is there an education component to this?”  See also Learning Component.

Elevator Conversation – A quick summarizing conversation, typically between someone leading a project and someone at an executive level.  e.g.  “I had an elevator conversation with the vice president this afternoon.”

Email Space – A discussion that occurs within emails.  e.g.  “Let’s take this discussion out of email space and setup a con call to discuss this.”

Enable – To allow someone to do something that they want.  e.g.  “My manager has enabled me to move forward.”

End User Perspective – How the user perceives something.  e.g.  “We need to look at this from the end user perspective.”

Engine – A transformative process such as an interface.  e.g.  “We can put this data through the analytical engine to generate the report.”

Enterprise – The entire company or set of companies under a common organization.  e.g.  “This will be an enterprise roll-out.”

EOB – End of Business or End of the Business Day which is typically 5PM local time.  e.g.  “I’d like this by EOB today.”  See also EOD.

EOD – End of Day or End of the Day.  This can mean 5PM or end of the business day or prior to the start of business the following day so it is best to clarify this request.  e.g.  “I need this by EOD today!”  See also EOB.

Evergreen – Content that is always relevant.  e.g.  “Let’s try to keep this evergreen.”

Exit Strategy – A plan to leave something.  e.g.  “Let’s develop an exit strategy for this meeting.”

Extra Mile (go the) – Going further than was requested in a positive manner.  e.g.  “Jane went the extra mile on this project!”

Eyeballs – Taking a look at something or having additional people look at something.  e.g.  “We need more eyeballs on this.”
