The show starts with a Baseball dance number, and Bob’s monologue references Joe Dimaggio’s recent marriage to Marylin Monroe.”Dizzy” Hope tries out as a pitcher for the Cleveland Indians and flops, and in a later skit, Bob’s a New Orleans jazz piano player auditioning Benny as violinist for his band, but they become rivals for Bob’s girlfriend Rosie.
